The Web Engine Network Network Operations Center (NOC) is served by separate high-speed fiber optic connections and utilizes multiple Tier-1 Internet backbone providers. Environmental control features for maximum reliability To reduce downtime, our data center feature advanced fire suppression systems, surge suppression, specialized heat and smoke sensors, separate fire zones below the floor and above the ceiling, raised flooring for improved server environment, as well as temperature, humidity, static and airborne particle controls. This includes Cisco routers, Layer 2 and 3 switches, our power system generator in addition to our regular grid electrical power, and our backbone. Each server is protected by our fire suppression system and multiple air conditioning systems (HVAC: Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning). In addition, we keep a supply of drives, network cards, processors, motherboards and every other piece of equipment that has even a remote chance of failure. We also use a multiple-SCSI backup cluster system for data storage and recovery. We start right from the beginning providing a server that has the latest patches, upgrades, and security fixes in place. After applying the numerous patches and security fixes on our servers, the OS is tweaked to disable other threats such as disabling ICMP traffic, a solid port scan using NMAP, and lockdown of files only the root or administrator should have access to. We go to great extremes to make sure our servers are secure on our network. We use Port Sentry Linux Root Kit Check software and we have a dedicated team of security analysts evaluating our network on a daily basis to help eliminate threats. We do not allow IRC servers, hate sites, or servers that could in any way cause harm to our network or the other servers hosted in our environment. In the end we care about the overall well being of our network and will go to great lengths to maintain this environment.
